CPS Refugee Children, Coming to My Neighborhood
posted by choggie 4 months 2 weeks ago • 275 views

The recent events in ElDorado Texas with the twirled-hairdooed ones and their Darwin-Wedgwoodesque shenannigans, hasnetted some damaged goods, close to my home......

HOUSTON - Dozens of children who were removed from a west Texas polygamist compound have been relocated to two Houston-area facilities, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday. Kidz Harbor in Liverpool, Texas, has been doing what it can to make the children's new home as close as possible to what is normal for them. A number of children will also be relocate dto Boy's and Girl's Country, in Hockley, Texas.(Chogggieland)

Employees filled bags with personal items to make the children's stay comfortable.

The state of Texas sent a list of needs to the facility. The children are on a strict diet of no beef and no processed foods. They are also not permitted to have televisions.

I was employed by Boy's Country back in the 80's, prior to it being a State-run facility-back then it was a private, Christian concern-(room and board for cleaning the pool and filling in for "house parents" on their days off)

News trucks will be swarming the place no doubt, to bring all the diversion, straight to livingrooms everywhere-

....and I thought I was safe from the immediate effects of the Cult of Mormonism, and all her variations.....kinna makes me wanna kick some random Mormon's ass for being such a putty...... wait..I am safe frome the immediate effects of Mormons-ok putty, just stay away from children....

I think they would say they are the true Mormon church, and that the LDS folk have turned away from Joseph Smith's teachings.

The only reasons that Mormons gave up polygamy was:

1. JS was dead, so couldn't complain.
2. It was that or open war with the US calvary.

No that wasn't the reason. Mormon doctrine says to uphold the laws of the land so long as they are just and provide the freedom to worship.

Polygamy was an extension of the Mormon faith because of the loss of many husbands during the mob massacres in Missouri and Illinois, and on the journey across the plains to the Salt Lake Valley. Polygamy was an assignment given to men who were capable of supporting families who had lost fathers and husbands in the course of their travels.

In fact even Joseph Smith and Bringam Young were both opposed to the idea of polygamy when it was first directed that it should be instituted. After law was passed by the United States government outlawing the practice. And after the Utah territory was made a state the practice was discontinued and any member of the church practicing it today is promptly excommunicated.

So I challenge your idea that those are the only reasons that the practice of polygamy was discontinued by the Mormon church.

I respectfully disagree. I have read that Joseph Smith had multiple wives secretly before the fledgeling church even knew about it.

Church doctrine was changed to fit Joseph Smith's lifestyle. And there was extreme pressure on government in Utah to submit to US law in Salt Lake City - or suffer the consequences.

These were Victorian times - so a whiff of impropriety could bring down a lot of scorn from civil society.

I don't think polygamy should be illegal- but then I think you should be able to marry your cat.

anyhow, dags bereft sensibilities aside, now they have the vans at Boy's Country parked front to front parallel with the road in the driveways, to prevent intruders and gawkers (symbol-addicted, media duped citizenry....rubberneckers) from disrupting the place-

Next weekend is their annual bar-b-que (fund-raiser).....that should be a circus-
