The avatar that I’ve been using recently was photographed at an opening reception at The Dutch Alley Artist’s Co-Op in the French Quarter on August 11th. It was one of many gallery openings that took place in celebration of “Dirty Linen Night”. Why “Dirty Linen”? Well the Julia Street art galleries celebrate “White Linen Night” the week before. So five years ago the French Quarter art galleries decided they should have their own event. In keeping with the theme dirty rice and dirty martinis were served.

That night I had a collage piece featured in a small group show in the co-op gallery. We were guests of the co-op. Freddy Omar and his band played as people danced. There was a steady crowd that visited the gallery. It was very hot that night. It’s good thing water and ice were both available – besides the other beverages.

Here are photos from that night. And here are the other experimental shots I took.

At its smaller size it looks like something glossy, like a piece of alien flesh.
