Tonight, six of us spent a wonderful few hours meeting and greeting one another at the Irvine Spectrum in wonderful Orange County, California in the biggest SiftUp to date.

Firefly came to Southern California for Thanksgiving and that prompted several of us local, eager Sifters to get together.
Charms and I arrived at Javier's Bar and Grill at about 5pm looking for some kind of sign and were quickly joined by Firefly, DarkRowan, and Grimm, most of whom had been at the Spectrum for a little while. We sat down and enjoyed getting to know one another over dinner during the next couple of hours.
After having been informed earlier that YouDieJoe couldn't attend, we were surprised to learn that he was on his way down to join us. Once he arrived we moved over to Fox Sports Grill (which coincidentally enough is where our SiftUp with Dag took place [yes, DarkRowan, that is the glass you're not supposed to touch in the background]).
We talked and laughed and talked some more. Issues ranged from the past and future of VideoSift, to our own personal stories of Sift addiction, to what Halloween costumes were like back when we were kids.
All in all it was a wonderful four hours getting to know some very fine folks. As YDJ suggested, we'll definitely have to get together for an LA SiftUp sometime. Perhaps even you can attend...

I hope the planned Berlin siftup has a similar turnout.
Date is December 15, definite venue still to be decided.
We might pick one of the Christmas Markets for some lovely "Glühwein".

So far it looks like MINK might attend. Gorgonheap was keen but his Berlin plans changed and I am still digging that tunnel for choggie (who apparently is not allowed in the east anymore by his own claims)

There was talk, Issykitty, that you live in LA. Is that right? If so, you should be able to attend the next LA SiftUp I'd imagine, yes? We'd also expect Ant to make it if we all come to his front step.
Maine, MG? Ah, we discussed your snow last night but weren't sure where it was falling. That is truly far away. Do you get a chance to see lots of celebrities like Stephen King?
Yeah, Dag. We'll definitely have to plan a huge SiftUp some day, once lots of people will be in attendance. Who knows, it could be the next ComiCon.
I actually stayed in the OC (Mission Viejo to be exact) with my ex girlfriend for awhile. It was beautiful there and I'm actually trying my hardest to get into grad school at UC Irvine. Awesome campus and I hear they have a top notch physics department.
and when I told the Mrs of all the shopping available at the Spectrum, she was definitely interested in a visit there whenever we return. I hope my credit cards can take it...!
